History

Although MaXfield Inc. is a relative newcomer, our industry roots run deep. We have re-established our industry position which began over 40 years ago.

Western Rock Bit Company Limited, a respected Canadian institution, was formed in 1962 to manufacture and sell rock bits to the oil and gas industry. Over the years the company diversified by adding the Vessel Tank and Transport Division and the Interquip Division to service the mid-stream oil and gas industry.

In the 1990s RNG Group Inc., a Mississauga-based private company, acquired both the Interquip and the Vessel Tank and Transport Divisions, including the manufacturing plant in Crossfield.  As the result of an amalgamation with Propar (1978) Inc., RNG Pro-Tech Inc. was formed in 1998, and was subsequently shut down in January, 2002.

In March 2002 a group of former executives, whose ties to the company dated back to the Western Rock Bit days, purchased the Crossfield plant asset and commenced operations under the MaXfield Inc. banner.  MaX-Quip Inc. was formed later the same year. Today MaXfield continues to grow and expand, building on our reputation for excellence.
